An oldie but a goodie from me tonight. I made this one a while ago (on another website) but I thought it was worth a re-post.
I like to have a pen handy in the kitchen, but they seem to be either one more piece of clutter on the bench (annoying), or invisible when I need one (more annoying). This simple little holder sits neatly on the fridge, keeping a pen handy, but tidied away.
The steps are as quick and simple as you’d imagine. You’ll need:
- Eclipse mints tin or similar, with the lid removed
- Scrap of fabric
- Fabric or craft glue
- Magnets
The instructions and pictures below cover all the steps.
I think this could easily be adapted to a few different tin shapes and sizes for storing other items as well.
- Gather your supplies
- Cut fabric to size, allow slight overlap when wrapped.
- Glue edge to tin, wrap, glue again to close overlap
- Stick magnets to tin, no need to glue if you don’t want to
- Finished! Quick huh?
- Use it, love it!

How clever!
What a cute idea! I can definitely see one of these in my kitchen soon.
I could see myself doing this one:) It looks so cute
That is so cooooool – I’m going to make one too!
