If you’re looking for something a little bit different when it comes to displaying your photos, how about going from this, which is cute, but kind of ordinary …..

… to this, which is just a little bit arty and fun.

It’s so quick and easy using Rasterbator (yes, with an R), all you need to do is download a zip file and you are ready to go.

Select your photo, the size you want it to print (based on A4 pages) from single page to HUGE posters, select the size you want the dots to be, click the Rasterbate! button. In a few moments you’ll have a PDF file you can print on your home printer. Simple, really simple. This is the only thing the file does, so you just can’t go wrong with it.

Here’s a printed example of the photo using 3 x 4 pages (I haven’t trimmed the white boarders or joined it, since my husband is unlikely to agree to me hanging a photo of a kitten this size), but you can see how cool it could look when finished. I made my dots quite small, but you can make them larger for more of a comic book effect.

Rasterbator certainly isn’t new, it’s just new to me, and I love the simplicity of it. Check it out, you might love it too.

  1. I love the name, and love what it does! (and am biting back some dirty jokes that came to mind)
